History

Pacific Western District History

In 2007 APICS approved to change the 14 Regions to 9 Districts. Region 10 was renamed the Pacific Western District and did not change in geography.  The Region 10 Vice President position was replaced by two positions; the District Manager who oversees the Chapters within the District and the District Director who represents the District Chapters as a voting member on the APICS Board of Directors.  Each position is a two year term. The District Director can only hold the position for one consecutive term. The District Manager can be elected for two consecutive terms for a maximum of four consecutive years.

Region 10 History
Region 10 was created by the Society Board of Directors in 1968, under Bill Callowhill, APICS Society President. Before that, the area of Region 10 was part of Region 7. In 1969 Region 10 had less than 10 chapters and 1,000 members.
